ABSTRACT:
This study involves the synthesis of new azodye derived from 2-Amino-6-ethoxybenzothiazole and 4-Chloro-3,5-dimethylphenol . The characterization of dye have been described by elemental analysis C.H.N. The thermal gravimetric analysis, infra-red and visible spectroscopic techniques were carried out .The acid-base properties were studied at different pH values and the ionization and protonation constants of dye were determined. The solvents (of different polarities) effect was also studied. The optimum conditions of the formation of complex with Fe(III) was investigated . The analytical applications of the dye were studied like as acid-base indicator and for the determination of nitrite ions.
