Licensing allows authors or publishers to grant specific permissions to others, such as researchers or institutions, to access, share, or reuse the work under predefined terms, often outlined in agreements like Creative Commons licenses.<\/p><p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The Journal <i>Advances of Nutrition Science and Technology<\/i> upholds the authors&#8217; copyright for all published articles. The articles are licensed under a\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s2\">Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0)<\/span><span class=\"s1\">, which is an open-access license that allows anyone to read and download the paper for free. The license also permits the reuse and citation of the Article, provided that the original published version is appropriately cited. These terms ensure that the work is widely accessible while ensuring that the authors receive proper recognition for their contribution.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p4\"><b>Reproducing Material from Other Publishers<\/b><\/p><p class=\"p4\">Authors must obtain permission to reproduce any figures, schemes, tables, or text extracts that are not public domain or not under their copyright. The copyright holder, typically the publisher, should be contacted for permission. The copyright holder can be identified from the publication imprint. This step is necessary to avoid copyright infringement and ensure proper citation of sources.<\/p><h4><b>Actions Requiring Permission:<\/b><\/h4><ul class=\"ul1\"><li class=\"li4\">The use of substantial portions of the work of another person, whether from a single source or multiple works within a series.<\/li><li class=\"li4\">The use of tables, graphs, charts, schemes, or artworks that are either unmodified or only minimally adjusted.<\/li><li class=\"li4\">Reproduce your work with other publishers if you do not retain the copyright.<\/li><li class=\"li4\">Use of photographs for which you do not own the copyright.<\/li><\/ul><h4><b>No Permission Needed For:<\/b><\/h4><ul class=\"ul1\"><li class=\"li4\">Reconstructing a table with data from another source, with appropriate citation as &#8220;Data from&#8230;&#8221; or &#8220;Adapted from&#8230;,&#8221; does not require permission.<\/li><li class=\"li4\">Short quotes that fall under fair use do not require permission.<\/li><li class=\"li4\">Fully redrawing and significantly altering graphs, charts, schemes, or artworks beyond recognition does not require permission.<\/li><\/ul><h4><b>Acquiring Consent<\/b><\/h4><p class=\"p4\">Authors should start the permission process as early as possible to ensure a smooth publication process. If there is any uncertainty regarding copyright, authors should seek permission. The Journal Advances of Nutrition Science and Technology<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>cannot publish material from other sources without proper authorization.<\/p><p class=\"p4\">If the copyright holder provides specific instructions for acknowledgment, follow those. If not, use the following format for acknowledgment:<\/p><p class=\"p4\">&#8220;Reproduced with permission from [author], [book\/journal title]; published by [publisher], [year].&#8221; This statement should appear at the end of the caption for the table, figure, or scheme.<\/p><h4><span class=\"s1\">The Exception to the Copyright Policy<\/span><\/h4><p class=\"p1\">Under specific circumstances, articles published in the Journal of Advances in Nutrition Science and Technology may be governed by a different licensing agreement. If you have particular requirements, such as funding mandates that prevent compliance with the Creative Commons Attribution License or a need to co-publish with other publishers, then please notify the Journal&#8217;s editorial office during the submission process.
