The undertaken research is the synthesis of N-(3-ethoxyphenyl)-4-methylbenzenesulfonamide (3) through condensation reaction of m-phenetidine (1) and 4-methylbenzenesulfonyl chloride (2) using basic aqueous media of sodium carbonate. Further, the synthesized compound 3 was reacted with different alkyl\/aralkyl halides (4a-j) using DMF as aprotic polar solvent and NaH as a base to yield 5a-j compounds. The synthesized molecules were characterized from their spectral data.
