The present research was designed to evaluate Cadmium\u00a0toxicity on plant growth and to describe the remedial effect of tea wastage against Cd(II) toxicity with reference to the growth of\u00a0wheat (<em>Triticum <\/em><em>aestivum <\/em>L).Application of Cd<sup>2+<\/sup>\u00a0decreased the wheat seedling growth along with alleviated concentration. It was\u00a0dose-dependent, and significant at higher concentration of CdCl<sub>2<\/sub>. The result showed the inhibitory effect of Cd<sup>2+<\/sup>\u00a0ion on plant\u00a0growth which includes reduction in shoot and root length, plant fresh and dry biomass and soluble carbohydrate and significant\u00a0increase in total phenol contents as defense biomolecule against external stress. Adsorption is a promising alternative method to\u00a0treat industrial effluents. Mainly because of its low cost and high metal binding capacity tea waste is one of the low cost and easily\u00a0available adsorbent having strong adsorptivity towards heavy metals. The consumed tea leaves were found to be able to remove\u00a0substantial amounts of Cd<sup>+2<\/sup>ions from aqueous solution. Thus it can be inferred that the addition of tea waste at appropriate rate\u00a0may be\u00a0useful\u00a0approach\u00a0to enhance\u00a0the\u00a0plant\u00a0growth and\u00a0to immobilize Cd<sup>2+<\/sup>\u00a0by depressing its\u00a0bioavailability.<\/p><\/div><div class=\"item abstract\"><h3><strong><b>How to Cite this paper?<\/b><\/strong><\/h3><p><strong><b>APA-7 Style<\/b><\/strong><br \/>Perveen, R., &amp; Ibrahim, S.
